Our Story

From the Flight Deck
to the Hill Country

A Naval Aviator, a career in the sky, and the piece of Texas that finally brought him home.

"Every carrier pilot knows the 3-wire is the one you're after. Not too early, not too late — exactly right. That's what I was looking for when I found this land."

The Man Behind the Ranch

Shawn Cash

Shawn graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1990 with a degree in Engineering, and spent the next decade as a Naval Aviator — flying for the United States Navy before transitioning into private aviation, where he built one of the most quietly distinguished careers in the industry.

He founded Jet Pilot Services in 2004 and ran it for nearly 19 years as president and lead contract captain, flying Falcons and Challengers on domestic and international operations. Along the way he served as Director of Aviation for an international energy company, as a Lead Captain on the Falcon 7X, and most recently as Regional Chief Pilot for Executive Jet Management across Florida and the South Central US.

The name "3-Wire Ranch" is a naval aviation reference. On a carrier, the 3-wire is the arresting cable every pilot is aiming for — the ideal catch. Not too early, not too late. Exactly right. When Shawn found this land in Edwards County, he knew he'd caught the 3-wire.

The Ranch

Finding the Land in Edwards County

Shawn finds his property deep in the Texas Hill Country — raw land along the Llano River, big sky, and the kind of quiet that's increasingly hard to find. He signs the papers, starts building, and names it for the perfect carrier landing.

Today

Captain & Rancher

Shawn still flies — currently as a Falcon 7X/8X Captain — and runs 3-Wire Ranch out of a deep belief that the Hill Country deserves to be shared. When you arrive, there's a good chance he'll be the one to meet you.
